Why we like it

  • An eco-friendly beach resort, located on the Kerala coast
  • All rooms are sea facing and most are authentic Keralan houses
  • An Ayurveda spa
  • Two restaurants and one bar offering an array of global cuisines as well as the traditional Indian offerings
  • Activities include catamaran and motorboat rides, astrology and cooking classes
  • A private beach area

A&K Top Tip

Enjoy a handmade cocktail in the bar on the cliff top overlooking the Arabian Sea, an amazing place to sit and relax to watch the sunset.

Guest Testimonial

The organisation was spot-on and A & K representatives met, fetched and carried at each venue, always on-time friendly and knowledgable. We had one driver throughout the trip - Pravin and he was a pleasure to be with.

Situated on a rocky promontory between two beautiful beaches, Surya Samudra offers a unique peaceful ambience to relax and enjoy your Kerala holiday, away from the hustle bustle of the city life. Located at just 20 km from Trivandrum, the Surya Samudra offers excellent accommodation, dining and recreational facilities. Many of the rooms are authentic Kerelan houses that have been transported from their original location. They have heavy wooden doors and window shutters and the interiors are finished in traditional style, with outdoor garden bathrooms. All rooms face the sea to get the full effect of the cooling breezes. Great care is taken to use local produce, the property has its own garden for fruit and vegetables and the seafood comes directly from the local fisherman on a daily basis.
