The tropical paradise of Bali is arguably the jewel in Indonesia's crown. Ubud offers a wealth of arts and crafts whilst Nusa Dua is an ideal base to explore the nearby beaches of Sanur, Legian and Kuta. Both offer luxury hotels renowned for their exceptional service and outstanding settings. East Bali has a hypnotic mix of religion, royal culture and architectural splendour and is often referred to as 'Old Bali'. The region is packed with villages whose way of life has changed little over the centuries, such as the closed, religious community of Tenganan.
Of course the best things here are still free: tropical sunsets, rich culture, powder beaches and coral dive sites. More colourful than Java, the Balinese are less restrained in their musical, decorative and culinary tastes. Bali is also the largest Hindu outpost in the world outside of India and they celebrate over 60 religious holidays a year in an unending chain of festivals.
Bali's coastline boasts a diverse range of beaches from jungle-shrouded sands in the northwest to pristine white beaches in the southwest. We want to ensure we choose the right beach area for you...
North and East Coast
The north coast is marked by quiet, sleepy beaches of black volcanic sand while the east coast also offers a laid-back island atmosphere but with white sands and abundant diving opportunities.
Often overlooked, the west coast offers more than a handful of beaches that are appealing for their rugged coastlines, cliff formations and solitude. Take time to explore one of Bali's more remote regions and delve into a true 'local' experience.
South and Southwest Coast
The legendary southwest coastline of the island of Bali has been attracting visitors and locals alike for years. With a medley of beaches and areas, each offering unique personalities, this part of Bali truly has something for everyone.

Best time to travel
April - October
Indonesia is located very close to the Equator which means you have 12 hours of daylight daily. It is a year round destination with the western monsoon bringing the wet season from October to April providing nice, warm temperatures and rain in the afternoon, perfect for a nap, especially with a twist of sea-breeze in the coastal areas. The eastern monsoon brings the drier weather from May to September, which is generally a more popular time to visit
