THE HOTEL
This five-star luxury class hotel is an original Venetian house from the 18th century. Located just steps from St Marks' Square, it is like your own Venetian palazzo overlooking the bustling Grand Canal.
In essence, it is a Venetian nobleman's period house brought up to date with modern services and facilities.
Behind the arched lancet windows and imposing Gothic facade you will find decorative inlaid ceilings, Chinese vases and antique tapestries by master craftsmen Bevilacqua and Rubelli. With two entrances: a private jetty on the Grand Canal and a doorway in the quieter Calletta dei XIII Martiri, it is well suited to anyone wanting to lead a discreet private life, yet stay right in the heart of the city.
The rooftop terrace Jacuzzi is the perfect spot from which to admire the views over Venice.
Coastal areas and the islands are great year round, although July and August can be very hot. The arts and opera seasons are generally at their peak outside these months. August is very much a shut down month as Italians take their annual break.
