Best time to be there

Coastal areas and the islands are great year round, although July and August can be very hot. The arts and opera seasons are generally at their peak outside these months. August is very much a shut down month as Italians take their annual break.

NEED TO KNOW

  • Set in the highest part of Forte Village Resort on the peak of a lush green hill
  • Il Borgo bungalows offer magnificent views of the resort
  • Each of the spacious bungalows boast a patio or balcony
  • Surrounded by light and wide-open Sardinian nature, the bungalows are ideal places for large families
  • Citta dei Bambini children's club is nearby, along with the freshwater Oasis pool and the seawater Baia delle Palme pool with its fun slides
  • We recommend the two bedroom Family Bungalow great for a family of four

THE HOTEL
Widely recognized as one of Europe' s finest resorts, Forte Village has achieved that rare combination of first-class accommodations, service, dining and facilities with a relaxed, casual friendliness for an unmatched holiday getaway for those who seek grand style and exclusivity. With elegant rooms, bungalows, suites and villas, up to 20 restaurants and activities for all ages and interests.

A village set on a gently sloping hillside surrounded by maritime pines and tropical plants: four star-plus Il Borgo offers 56 spacious bungalows, some of which have panoramic views. Il Borgo guests can enjoy breakfast and dinner at the seafront Bellavista restaurant.

There are three spectacular freshwater swimming pools, with a diving board, at the Oasis in the centre of the village and two more spacious seawater pools, with 250 metres of slides are set amid beautiful natural scenery at the Baia delle Palme. Thaermae del Forte is a true open-air haven with Thalassotherapy at its core.

The list of activities is immense, whether it is the soft white sandy beaches that take your fancy or the thrill of scuba diving you can be active all day long. We particularity enjoyed the watersports on offer at the Boat House on the beach and the Chelsea Football Club Soccer School for those aged 4 to 14 years. Tennis is a big draw with coaches all being featured in the ATP world rankings. The twelve courts include one grass, one artificial grass, eight clay and two hard courts. All are floodlit at night. If you are more a rugby person then Healey, Greenwood, Leonard and Robinson will pass their skills onto you in their morning training sessions. The Molas Golf Club course is world class and has hosted Italian Opens. Adjacent to the Village is Leisureland a haven for teens with a go-kart track, nightclub and climbing wall to name a few.

The 'Citta dei Bambini' is no typical kids club. With its own pool and activities from pizza making to musical instrument lessons the week ends in a show by the children in the main square.

A fantastic array of restaurants produces every cuisine imaginable, including Sardinian, Chinese, Lebanese, French, Italian and Brazilian and in the heart of the Village the Piazza Maria Luigia hosts nightly events. Michelin-starred chefs Gordon Ramsay, Rocco Iannone and Giancarlo Perbellini coupled with the Forte Gourmet cooking school ensure that the cuisine on offer is second to none.

We also feature the Hotel Castello, Villa del Parco & Spa and Le Dune that are part of Forte Village.

We recommend25 hectares of grounds the lush gardens provide masses of shade from the hot Sardinian sun.

Guest Testimonial

Quite simply excellent. If I could say one thing it is that Egypt is the place to go right now, as there were virtually no tourists at some of the sights and that,I should think, is quite rare!
