Day 1 Arrive in Okinawa
Today you arrive at the western island of Ishigaki. Ishigaki is part of the Yaeyama Islands which are famed for their clear waters, undiscovered beaches, forested interiors and charming local character. Spend the next three days exploring these mesmerising isles at your own pace and leisure.

Day 2 Ishigaki
Enjoy time in Ishigaki to soak up the local culture, and experience what the Okinawan vibe is all about. Ishigaki city is the commercial centre of the island and can easily be explored on foot. Make your way through the local shopping streets, and try some of the local specialties, such as Yaeyama soba, the Ishigaki variety of the popular noodles dish, or Ishigaki beef, known to be very tender and a rival to the famous Kobe beef. In the afternoon, you can rent a car or scooter, and explore the beautiful beaches on the west of the island.

Day 3 Ishigaki
Ishigaki is the ideal spot for diving and snorkelling: a rich marine flora and fauna awaits you, including large schools of manta rays dwelling in the area. We recommend taking a guided excursion or scuba diving lesson.

Day 4 Ishigaki
Why not hop on board a boat today and explore one of the other islands of the Yaeyama archipelago. Taketomi Island, only 10 minutes by boat, has a population of just 300 and boasts a perfectly preserved ancient Okinawan village. Slightly further away, Iriomote Island is one of Japan's last unspoiled lands and real paradise for hiking.

Day 5 Depart Ishigaki
Travel back to the mainland flying to either Tokyo or Osaka.
Meals: Breakfast
