Masai Mara , Kenya
Within sight of the Mara River and with one of the 'steps' of the Great Rift Valley as a backdrop, Bateleur Camp at Kichwa Tembo offers dramatic game viewing and exceptional standards of service. This romantic private camp amid lush forest is close to where 'Out Of Africa' was filmed. Indeed, the nine luxurious tented suites under wood-shingled roofs reflect the ambience of Kenyan safaris of the 1920s and 30s. After a wonder-filled adventure in a custom-designed four-wheel drive, bringing alive the magic of this prime wilderness, the tree-shaded deep lap pool provides a cool retreat. The candlelit bush banquets on the riverbank will simply delight you.

December - March, July - October
Kenya's equatorial location ensures warm weather year round, though it can be cool at night and first thing in the morning. There are two rain seasons, the long rains occur from April to June and short rains from October to December. The rainfall is sometimes heavy and when it does come it often falls in the afternoons and evenings. The hottest period is from February to March and coldest in July to August.
