Luxury Travel Fair
The Luxury Travel Fair takes place on 4th - 7th November at the National Hall Olympia. It offers a superb opportunity to research your next holiday, and more importantly, meet the people who will plan it with you.
In addition to members of our teams from Cheltenham and Harrods, we will also be joined by two of A&K's Private Label Guides - Garth Hovell and Jon Nicholson - who lead some of our journeys, bringing insight, knowledge and their contacts, ensuring the experience is as intimate and rewarding as possible.
A&K will be exhibiting at Stand SD30 - conveniently straight opposite the Island Bar!
Born in Zimbabwe, Garth grew up in Botswana and South Africa and is fully qualified to guide in South Luangwa and the Lower Zambezi Valley in Zambia by boat, canoe, vehicle or on foot.
Having worked as a safety kayaker for white water rafting below the Victoria Falls and as a Jump Master for the Bunji Crew, he now specialises in walking safaris. This pure form of bush exploration now provides his adrenaline rush. He says, 'On foot your senses are heightened by all that surrounds you to give you the ultimate safari high'.
Garth takes privately guided trips in East Africa, Botswana and predominantly Zambia where he is based. If you would like to meet Garth, he will be at our stand on the afternoons of both Thursday 4th and Friday 5th November.
Jon has been a photographer for over 26 years and is well known for his behind-the-scenes work with many of the UK's top sporting personalities and teams. He shoots for many of the world's major magazines such The National Geographic, Sunday Times Magazine and Condé Nast Traveller. What makes Jon's photography stand out is the exclusive access he is granted.
Jon has just returned from leading our photographic journey through Yunnan, China, providing technical and composition advice and critiquing images to ensure everyone returned with a stunning photographic record of their journey. In 2011 he will be leading A&K trips to some of the most photogenic countries in the world, including Tibet, India, Bhutan and Ethiopia.
If you would like to meet Jon, he will be at our stand on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th November.
Having just returned from a truly wonderful trip, I wanted to tell you how impressed we were with your part in this. (Debbie Rawnsley) We loved the itinerary, we loved the service levels, we loved the guides and above all we loved the experience of this unique culture with its overwhelming ‘otherness’, its politesse, its perfection its precision, its history, its gardens, its architecture and its charm. So, well done
