Weather
Due to the size of the country, Madagascar experiences a range of climatic conditions. The heaviest rainfall tends to fall on the east coast and in the north particularly through the cyclone season between December and March. The highlands and parts of the south west remain fairly dry year round although sharp showers can be experienced in Fort Dauphin area.

Remotely located on a peninsula on the north-west coast of Madagascar is Anjajavy Private Nature Reserve. The reserve is haven for the wildlife which thrives amongst the mangroves, limestones and deciduous forest. There are many species of birds, reptiles and of course lemurs. Two diurnal species of lemurs are found here, the common brown lemur and the more unusual looking Coquerel's Sifaka. Many nocturnal species can be found here including the mouse lemur which at adult size only reaches up to 24cm long and weighs no more than 106 grams. You may also be fortunate to see the solitary Fossa which is Madagascar's largest carnivore and know for chasing down lemurs in the forest. The coastal part of the park is truly amazing with small coves and beautiful white beaches. Walking along many of the paths you can find your very own private beach from where you can explore the world below the turquoise blue waters.

Guest Testimonial
Quite simply excellent. If I could say one thing it is that Egypt is the place to go right now, as there were virtually no tourists at some of the sights and that,I should think, is quite rare!![]()
