Dining experiences at the oceanfront Stars Signature Restaurant, Pebbles all day dining or the casual Fish & Rhum Shack on the beach are simple yet exquisite offering Mediterranean, international or casual BBQ's respectively, with the chefs creating imaginative choices for the most discerning of palates. Most of the fresh produce used in the restaurants is grown on the property together with fish fresh from the ocean.
The pride of the almost exclusively local staff at the resort is evident throughout the Shanti Maurice experience, manifesting itself in genuinely warm and caring service. The hotel has a Kids Club and a specially designed Kids Activities Programme, with recreational pursuits such as non-motorised water sports, tennis, and arts & crafts including shell-painting, clay-modelling and 'treasure hunts'. May - December
Mauritius experiences a hot and humid summer from December to April and cooler, drier conditions from May to November. Under the influence of the prevailing south-easterly winds, the east coast is slightly cooler and wetter than the west. The winds can bring a welcome relief to the east coast in the hottest summer months but are more blustery here in July and August. The cyclone season lasts from December to March. Although a direct hit is rare, cyclones far out at sea can bring some days of squally rain.
