A Tale of Two Cities

Cuba,Mexico, 13 Nights

Day 1 - London/Mexico City
Friday departure from London Heathrow with the British Airways flight to Mexico City. Arrival transfer to The Four Seasons Hotel for three nights, an oasis of calm in the centre of the city.

Day 2 - Mexico City
Spend a leisurely morning plying the ancient Aztec waterways of Xochimilco by boat before driving to the delightful colonial district of Coyocan to follow in the footsteps of Surrealist artist Frida Kahlo and her muralist husband Diego Rivera. Visit Casa Azul, Frida Kalho's home and Diego Rivera's Studio Museum and the colourful Saturday Bazaar at San Jacinto.

Day 3 - Mexico City
Morning visit to the astonishing archaeological zone of Teotihuacan, famous for the world's third and fourth largest pyramids, the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Afternoon guided tour of Mexico City's historic centre including the main square, one of the largest in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Metropolitan Cathedral and Templo Mayor, the most important Aztec temple in their capital city of Tenochitlan.

Day 4 - Mexico City/Havana
Midday flight to the vibrant city of Havana and transfer to the Saratoga Hotel for four nights. The famous Saratoga is an iconic landmark in the centre of Havana, recently transformed to reflect its 1930s glory. Enjoy wonderful views of the city from the rooftop pool.

Day 5 - Havana
Morning walking tour of Habana Vieja, the UNESCO preserved old town. Observe the faded elegance of the city including the Gran Teatro and one of Ernest Hemingway's favourite haunts - La Bodeguita. Afternoon at leisure. You may wish to spoil yourself with a 'mojito' or daiquiri in one of the shady plazas and look out for a spontaneous burst of music or dancing.

Day 6 - Havana

Learn how cigars are made with a morning guided visit to a cigar factory. Afterwards enjoy a tour of the city in a classic car including the seafront 'Malecon' and Revolution Square, home to a large image of Che Guevara. This evening, experience local flavours with dinner at a private 'paladar' restaurant.

Day 7 - Havana
Day at leisure to enjoy your last full-day in this fascinating city or relax on the hotel's rooftop terrace. Evening visit to the world-famous open-air Tropicana Cabaret, a timeless show of glitz and glamour dating back to the 1930's.

Day 8 - Havana/Riviera Maya

Morning flight to Cancun and transfer along Mexico's Caribbean coast to the Riviera Maya and the Rosewood Mayakoba Resort & Spa.

Days 9 to 12 - Riviera Maya
Spend four days enjoying the legendary Rosewood style, service and delicious cuisine. Also on offer is a championship golf course, spa island, lecture programme on culture and ecology, children's activity club, diving on the world's second largest coral reef and even tequila tasting sessions, not to mention luxurious suites and several swimming pools.

Day 13 - Riviera Maya/London
Transfer to the airport for the direct flight from Cancun to London Gatwick. Arrive day 14.
