Mexico, 15 Nights

Day 1 - London/Mexico City
Departure from London Heathrow with British Airways to Mexico City. Arrival transfer to The Four Seasons Hotel for two nights.

Day 2 - Mexico City
Morning visit to the astonishing archaeological zone of Teotihuacan. Afternoon guided tour of Mexico City's historic centre.

Day 3 - Mexico City/El Fuerte
Fly to Los Mochis. Transfer by road to El Fuerte, the delightful colonial gateway to the Copper Canyon. Afternoon walk to view the pre-Columbian petroglyphs along the banks of the El Fuerte River and visit the small museum highlighting the era of the outlaw Pancho Villa. Overnight at Torres del Fuerte Hotel.

Day 4 - El Fuerte/Cerocahui
An early wake-up call for the private transfer to the station for the legendary Chihuahua-Pacifico train. The journey will take you from cactus to cedar and from rolling foothills to dramatic canyons. Arrive at Bahuichivo Station before midday. Shared van journey to the traditional village of Cerocahui, founded by Jesuit missionaries in 1694. Overnight at the Hotel Mision.

Day 5 - Cerocahui/Posada Barrancas

Morning group walk or horse ride to the Cerocahui Waterfall, known locally as Hulcochi, which in the Tarahumara language means 'place of many trees'. Just after midday, board the train to continue the journey up into the Sierra Madre Mountains to Posada Barrancas Station at 2,200 metres above sea level. Short 'shuttle' service to the Mirador Hotel, poised like an eagle's nest on the edge of the canyon. Afternoon at leisure. Enjoy one night at the traditional hotel, affording excellent views of the canyon.

Day 6 - Posada Barrancas/Creel
Depart on another spectacular journey, this time by road with a private driver to the frontier town of Creel. Time at leisure before continuing on via Lake Arareko, to Sierra Mountain Lodge for one night. 

Day 7 - Creel/Batopilas
After breakfast start an incredible road journey of rugged switchbacks, passing through the Copper and La Bufa Canyons, descending to Batopilas - an incredible town 'lost in time'. Two nights at Casa Real de Minas, a renovated turn of the century mansion.

Day 8 - Batopilas
Day at leisure to soak in the history of Batopilas, laze by the river, enjoy a beer with the locals in the Singing Bridge Bar or visit 'The Lost Cathedral of Satevo'.

Day 9 - Batopilas/El Fuerte
Morning return back up the road to Creel (helicopter or private plane transfer optional extra) to join the train on its return journey to El Fuerte. Late evening arrival and transfer to the Torres del Fuerte Hotel for a one-night stay.

Day 10 - El Fuerte/Los Cabos
Transfer to Los Mochis for the shared charter flight to San Jose del Cabo. Enjoy five nights at the exclusive Las Ventanas Rosewood Resort.

Days 11 to 14 - Los Cabos
Relax and unwind at this beautiful hotel with its excellent spa, network of pools and exceptional dining options. Option to do a full day whale watching trip November to February.

Day 15 - Los Cabos/London
Midday flight to Mexico City to connect with the British Airways flight to London Heathrow. Arrive day 16.

At A&K all of our journeys are individually tailored to suit your needs and timescale. However, as a guide, a 15 day journey in Mexico will cost from £4,125 per person based on two adults sharing with flights from the UK and subject to availability.
