Why we like it
- A boutique style hotel
- Housed in the historic Tehuacan building built in 1931, one of the best examples of Mexican art deco
- Located in the hip La Condesa neighbourhood
- A mix of original art deco and contemporary style
- Aida restaurant, with its discreet side door offers inspired Mexican cuisine
For one of the best views, stay in a room on the top floor.
I would just like to add that the help / service we received from Melissa Hookway was oustanding. It was very personal and I was made to felt like a valued client.

Hippodrome has a private almost secret atmosphere about it with its dark mauve walls and low lighting the hotel feels like a private club that you would find in New York or London. The hotel’s exact location is hidden away in a quiet street in Mexico Park, but still a great location to explore the city. Hippodrome offers you discreet service in a contemporary styled hotel that still captures its past. Stay in rooms or suites all have been carefully designed to create a comfortable retreat from the city with all expected modern amenities. We particularly like the signature suite with two bedrooms it is perfect for a family or friends travelling together complete with a double terrace overlooking La Condesa. The hotel offers a butler service, the ultimate mini bar, your butler can create a variety of drinks and snacks for a time that is convenient for you – their signature cocktail is not to be missed.
Best time to be there
October to April as the rainy season works its way up from the south beginning in May and running until September. Hurricanes may occur from July to October. December to February are the coolest months, when northerly winds can sometimes take inland northern Mexico temperatures down to freezing.
