Day 1 UK / Marrakech
Fly to Marrakech, where you will be met by a member of the A&K team and driven to Les Jardins de la Medina, your home for the next three nights.

Day 2 Marrakech
Today you’ll meet your private guide and begin exploring the Rose City. You’ll start your visit with the Bahia Palace, erected on the order of the great vizier Sidi Moussa in 1880. Afterwards, you’ll visit the Dar Si Said Museum to admire beautifully decorated weapons, clothing and jewellery. After lunch, you’ll visit the Ben Youssef Medersa Koranic School, built around 1570, before admiring the influential Koutoubia Mosque, the minaret of which dominates the city’s skyline. There will also be a chance to shop and absorb the atmosphere of Djemaa El-Fna square in the evening.

Day 3 Marrakech
Today you’ll have the day free to enjoy the hotel and further take in the atmosphere of Marrakech.

Day 4 Marrakech / Atlas Mountains
You’ll be driven from Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains, North Africa’s greatest mountain range, for a two night stay at Bab Ourika.

Day 5 Atlas Mountains
You’ll enjoy a full day exploring the Atlas Mountains today, with a trek through the Ourika Valley. You’ll walk south along the river from the kasbah, passing through the Berber villages of Timalize and Tamzendent, or the salt mine and village of Akhilij and Tagadirt. You’ll continue through the forested valley towards Tourirt, among groves of apple, orange, olive and peach trees with an experienced English speaking mountain guide, a muleteer, and a mule to carry supplies including a picnic lunch.

Day 6 Atlas Mountains / Essaouira
You’ll be driven to Essaouira today where your hotel will be the lovely Villa de l’O in the heart of the old town. On arrival, you’ll have some free time to relax or wander around this attractive coastal town rich in history.

Day 7 Essaouira
Together with your private guide you’ll enjoy a half day walking tour of the charming and historic Portuguese city Essaouira. Its islands were inhabited as early as the 7th century BC and pottery found here proves the presence of both Carthaginians and Phoenicians. The Portuguese fortified the city in the 16th century and named it Mogador.

Day 8 Essaouira / Marrakech

You’ll be driven back to Marrakech today to catch your flight back home.

Best time to be there

Morocco is warm and sunny year round. The best time to visit is mid-February to June and September to December. Coastal Morocco is cooled by sea breezes. The peaks of the Atlas Mountains are snow-capped for most of the year.
