NEED TO KNOW
- Sahara Desert camping in an isolated spot close to the dunes of Merzouga
- Private Arab Caidal tents with wash basin and a separate toilet and bucket shower tent
- Outstanding cuisine served in the middle of nowhere
- Enjoy a traditional cooked Moroccan dinner served with beautiful cooked salads around the campfire or in the private restaurant tent, followed by a wonderful array of fruits
- Camel trek through the dunes at sunrise or sunset
- We recommend a night in Ourzazate or Erfoud either side of your stay in the desert
THE CAMP
Meet your caravan of 4x4 vehicles and travel through the rocky, flat baked sand bordering the dunes of Erg Chebbi or jump on a camel to arrive in style. Mint tea awaits you on arrival.
The tents are very comfortable with rugs, a small table between beds equipped with flashlight, a small wash basin with running cold water, and another small table. Each bed had a neatly folded towel topped with shampoo and soap at the foot. No washcloth or conditioner, but it is the desert! Two chairs flank the tent entrance.
Between every bedroom tent, there was a bathroom tent, only feet away. There is a canvas partition between the front sink area, with hot and cold running water, and the toilet and shower area at the back.
We were woken up early for a camel sunrise ride over the dunes. We had our coffee, before watching a magnificent sunrise from the camp.
