The best time to travel to Mozambique is between June and August, rainfall is low and temperatures warm in the low to mid twenties. The rainy season runs from November through until March.

Maputo was founded in the late 18th Century and now the capital and largest city in Mozambique located in the far south of the country with a population of 2 million people and a large harbour known for its colonial style architecture and proximity to the Indian Ocean. This bustling city has wide avenues lined with jacaranda and flame trees. Maputo is well known for its favourable climate, ranging from 17°C to 30°C.
One of the city's most imposing buildings is the CFM Railway Station, recently voted as one of the 10 most beautiful train stations in the world. The train station was built in 1910 and still is home to two wood burning steam engines that are on display. Maputo is full of restaurants offering some of the best fresh seafood available. The capital is also home to many fine artists and musicians who are making a name for themselves on the international stage.
