Bagan, Irrawaddy, Mandalay , Myanmar

Cruise along the spectacular Irrawaddy River in Myanmar with The Road to Mandalay and experience the voyage of a lifetime. After an absence of more than 12 months, she has been completely refurbished and remodelled.

This elegant vessel, air-conditioned throughout, has been especially adapted for cruising on the Ayeryarwaddy, providing supreme comfort for which Orient Express is famous. With four decks; Deluxe, State, Main and Observation, she has 18 State Cabins, 16 Deluxe Cabins, 4 Superior Cabins as well as 4 Singles. With the emphasis on traditonal comfort combined with delightful luxury, the spacious en suite cabins are  furnished with the most beautiful fabrics, finest linens and softest towels.

The Observation Deck, with shady canopies and relaxing cane furniture, makes a superb balcony for viewing the theatre of the busy river and the magical sunsets - while the pool and deck bar have their own welcome appeal! On Main Deck there's the spacious Observation Lounge, the Kipling piano-bar with its wonderful Myanmar lacquerwork and local wood, and the restaurant offering seven different themes: Burmese, Shan, Thai, Indonesian, Chinese, Indian and European.

Myanmar

Best time to be there

Myanmar has three clear seasons: from March to May are the very hot summer months, the wet and humid monsoon runs from May to October and the cold dry winter lasts from November to February. The best time of year to visit is late November early December when the rains have gone, the landscape is lush and green and the skies are crystal clear. However any time from late November to March is a good time to travel.
