Skeleton Coast , Namibia
Situated within a private concession of the Skeleton Coast National Park among striking sand dunes and windswept plains, Skeleton Coast Camp will suit those seeking the ultimate in remote wilderness experience. A place of stark beauty, the Skeleton Coast is littered with bleached whale bones and other skeletal remains. In such a harsh environment, only the hardy survive. Enormous colonies of Cape fur seals and the ancient welwitschia plant are two of those species. Built on an island in the dry Khumib riverbed, six Meru-style en suite tents are set around a central area consisting of an open-plan lounge, bar and dining area.
