Day 1 Auckland
On arrival, a member of the A&K team will meet you and drive you to the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour Hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 2 Auckland
Your private A&K guide will accompany you on a half day tour of Auckland, visiting the scenic waterfront, the quaint Victorian village of Parnell and enjoying the panoramic views of the city from top of the extinct volcano, Mount Eden. Then it is time to climb aboard your private helicopter, flying over to picturesque Waitemata Harbour to land on Waiheke Island, where your A&K guide will share the island’s highlights, stopping for lunch, wine tasting and private visits to artist studios.

Day 3 Auckland / Bay of Islands
Take to the skies in your helicopter once more, this time flying to the Bay of Islands where you’ll be staying at The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs, a dreamy 5-star hotel with outstanding leisure facilities overlooking Matauri Bay.

Day 4 Bay of Islands
This morning you’ll fly up to the Cape Reinga region via Northland’s spectacular harbours such as the Whangaroa Harbour and the Rangaunu Harbour. You’ll pass beautiful beaches along the way, including the famous Ninety Mile Beach. Your guide will meet you as you land at Cape Reinga and will accompany you to the landmarks of the region including the picturesque Cape Reinga Lighthouse, Tapotupotu Bay and the giant dunes of Te Paki Stream, before re-boarding your helicopter for the return flight to Kauri Cliffs.

Day 5 Bay of Islands
You'll have the whole day to yourself today to relax at Kauri Cliffs and enjoy the facilities including the magnificent ocean-view PGA golf course and fabulous spa.

Day 6 Bay of Islands / Rotorua
Today you'll be driven to Kerikeri Airport for your flight to Rotorua. On arrival you'll be met by a member of the A&K team and driven to Huka Lodge, where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 7 Rotorua
Time to jump aboard the helicopter again, this time to fly to White Island to see New Zealand's most active volcano, Mount Tarawera where you’ll be taken on a guided walk of the crater. Flying over the Pacific Ocean (keeping your eyes peeled for dolphins), your next stop is Rotorua where’ll you experience the boiling mud and magnificent spouting geysers of the Te Puia Thermal Reserve.

Day 8 Christchurch
After a domestic flight to Christchurch on South Island, you'll be guided around the city to see the key landmarks such as the Botanical Gardens and River Avon. From to the top of the Port Hills, you’ll have a wonderful vista of Christchurch and the surrounding countryside including quaint Lyttleton Harbour. You will be staying at beautiful and historic Otahuna Lodge, which is set in 30 acres of manicured gardens and rolling woodland.

Day 9 Christchurch / Franz Josef
Step aboard the Tranz Alpine train to Greymouth, passing through the snow-capped Southern Alps to New Zealand’s stunning West Coast. On arrival in Greymouth, your A&K guide will drive you to the Te Waonui Forest Retreat in Franz Josef.

Day 10 Franz Josef
Take to the skies once again, this time on your exclusive Mountain Spectacular helicopter tour which will give you a bird’s eye view of two of New Zealand's most spectacular national parks. You’ll be able to appreciate the vast icy crags of the Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier snowfields from before landing at high altitude, to walk on the glacier. Afterwards explore the rich history of Franz Josef with your guide, visiting the West Coast Wildlife Centre where you’ll see New Zealand's national bird, the kiwi.

Day 11 Franz Josef / Wanaka
A three and half hour drive though the picturesque countryside of South Island takes you Wanaka, crossing over the Haast Pass, and passing vast rainforests, waterfalls and mirror-like lakes that characterise the unspoilt landscape. At Wanaka Airport, you'll board a helicopter to fly to Minaret Station, the only way to reach this luxurious tented camp, located in a glacial valley in the heart of the Southern Alps.

Day 12 Wanaka
Enjoy the glorious countryside that envelopes Minaret Station, walking, fly-fishing in the nearby or simply relaxing and savouring the peace and quiet from the comfort of your sumptuous tent, which has its own expansive private deck, complete with hot tub.

Day 13 Wanaka
On today's sightseeing tour of Wanaka and Central Otago you'll have the chance to observe some of the world's rarest restored fighter planes and New Zealand's largest private transport and toy collections. After lunch at an excellent local restaurant, step back in time with a visit to Cromwell, the lush heart of stone-fruit country. As you drive over the Crown Range road, take in the astonishing views as you look down over the Wakatipu Basin before slowly weaving down into the valley below to Queenstown, where you are staying at the spectacular Matakauri Lodge overlooking a glittering turquoise lake, surrounded by mountains.

Day 14 Milford Sound
Weather permitting, it is time to jump back in the helicopter to experience the World Heritage-listed Milford Sound, flying over secluded alpine lakes and lush rainforest, through deep bush-fringed valleys and past rugged mountain peaks en route. Your helicopter will land 'on top of the world' to stand among the ancient ice flows of the Fiordland Glaciers. You'll enjoy a delicious picnic lunch here before flying on to Glenorchy for a Dart River Wilderness Safari when you’ll experience the thrill of an adrenalin-fuelled jet boat ride up the river.

Day 15 Queenstown
During today’s tour of Wakatipu Basin, you’ll visit the historic gold-mining settlement of Arrowtown, tour a prominent local artist’s studio and Kawarau suspension bridge to watch (or participate in) the bungee jumping. You’ll be treated to a fine lunch accompanied by Otago's finest pinot noirs during a private tour of the Mount Edward winery. In afternoon take the Skyline Gondola to Bob's Peak for spectacular panoramic views over Lake Wakatipu, before returning to Matakauri Lodge for your final evening.

You'll be driven to the airport today for your onward flight.

Best time to be there

Summer on the north island (December to February) is ideal for outdoor pursuits with mild temperatures and hours of sunshine. Venture to the numerous ski slopes and warm up close to a crackling fire during the winter months in June to August.
