From exploring the vibrant city of Auckland to glacier trekking and flying over the spectacular Milford Sound in a helicopter, the experiences you can have on our 14-day Luxury New Zealand tour are sure to make a lasting impression.

Days 1 - 2 UK / Auckland 
Leave the UK, bound for Auckland on your premium economy flight with Air New Zealand.

Day 3 Auckland 
On arrival, a member of the A&K team will meet you and drive you to the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour Hotel for your two night stay.

Day 4 Auckland 
Today is at leisure, we recommend a half day tour of Auckland, visiting the scenic waterfront, the quaint Victorian village of Parnell and enjoying the panoramic views of the city from top of the extinct volcano, Mount Eden. Alternatively climb aboard your private helicopter, flying over to picturesque Waitemata Harbour to land on Waiheke Island, where your A&K guide will share the island’s highlights, stopping for lunch, wine tasting and private visits to artist studios.

Day 5 Auckland / Bay of Islands 
Today you are driven to the Bay of Islands. For the more adventurous you can choose to take to the skies in your helicopter, flying to the Bay of Islands. You’ll be staying at The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs, a dreamy 5-star hotel with outstanding leisure facilities overlooking Matauri Bay.

Days 6 – 7 Bay of Islands 
Your two days are at leisure, the region offers some spectacular activities, one of the most popular is to fly up to the Cape Reinga region via Northland’s spectacular harbours such as the Whangaroa Harbour and the Rangaunu Harbour. You’ll pass beautiful beaches along the way, including the famous Ninety Mile Beach. Your guide will meet you as you land at Cape Reinga and will accompany you to the landmarks of the region including the picturesque Cape Reinga Lighthouse, Tapotupotu Bay and the giant dunes of Te Paki Stream, before re-boarding your helicopter for the return flight to Kauri Cliffs.

Day 8 Bay of Islands / Rotorua 
Today you'll be driven to Kerikeri Airport for your flight to Rotorua. On arrival you'll be met by a member of the A&K team and driven to Huka Lodge, where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 9 Rotorua 
Today we recommend a helicopter again, this time to fly to White Island to see New Zealand's most active volcano, Mount Tarawera where you’ll be taken on a guided walk of the crater. Flying over the Pacific Ocean (keeping your eyes peeled for dolphins), your next stop is Rotorua where’ll you experience the boiling mud and magnificent spouting geysers of the Te Puia Thermal Reserve.

Days 10 – 11 Marlborough Sounds
After a domestic flight to Blenheim on South Island, you'll be taken by boat to the Bay of Many Coves, an adventurer’s paradise nestled deep in the Marlborough Sounds perched on the very edge of the water. With a wealth of activities on offer, over the next two days you can choose from kayaking, fishing, swimming with dolphins, wine tours, eco cruising, bird watching and even a glow worm natural light show, to name just a few.

Day 12 Queenstown 
Fly down to Queenstown today, where you are staying at the spectacular Blanket Bay Lodge overlooking a glittering turquoise lake, surrounded by mountains.

Day 13 Milford Sound 
Weather permitting, it is time to take a helicopter to experience the World Heritage-listed Milford Sound, flying over secluded alpine lakes and lush rainforest, through deep bush-fringed valleys and past rugged mountain peaks en route. Your helicopter will land 'on top of the world' to stand among the ancient ice flows of the Fiordland Glaciers. You'll enjoy a delicious picnic lunch here before flying on to Glenorchy for a Dart River Wilderness Safari when you’ll experience the thrill of an adrenalin-fuelled jet boat ride up the river.

Day 14 Queenstown 
You'll be driven to the airport today for your onward flight.

Summer on the north island (December to February) is ideal for outdoor pursuits with mild temperatures and hours of sunshine. Venture to the numerous ski slopes and warm up close to a crackling fire during the winter months in June to August.
