Solstrand Hotel & Bad, Os
Why we like it
- Countryside family owned retreat less than an hour from Bergen
- On the shores of the Bjørnefjord
- Extensive SPA with indoor corridor taking you down to beach
- Walk along the coastline to Os town centre
The organic juices on offer are from a local farmer and the juice sommelier will talk you though what is on offer - we loved the cherry one.
I am most grateful for your (Nicola Wallington) guide selection. Our guide was knowledgable, patient, polite, considerate, perfect in German and can be highly recommended. It was a stroke of genius on your part to have him with us during the whole trip. We would have been lost without him.

In its own extensive gardens this picturesque wooden house retains its architectural styling and the 135 rooms and suites have the most amazing fjord views. Choose an Executive room on the ground floor with its own terrace or Deluxe and Junior suites with private balconies.
The SPA is a welcome retreat and the fjord views will not disappoint. Take a refreshing dip in the fjord after exploring the region on foot or bicycle courtesy of the maps at your disposal. Or use the indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Take to a wooden rowing boat on the fjord or hire a sea kayak. If golf is your passion then the 9-hole Bjornefjorden Golf Club is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Arrive in style in under 10 minutes by helicopter from the airport and take to the skies again to see the Folgefnna glacier.
