Paracas and Nazca lines are places that should be seen together; one is a marine eco-system and the other is a desert.
Nazca, famous for its ancient drawings (the Nazca Lines) depicting mammals, Gods and insects from a culture that existed more than 300 years before Christ. These drawings are so monumentally huge that some can only be seen from the sky at an altitude of 1,500 feet. The Nazca lines have been declared a Cultural Heritage and it still remains a mystery as to how these drawings were created and why.
Paracas is where the desert and the sea meet. The National Reserve of paracas has 335,000 hectares and is inhabited by an enormous variety of birds, amongst which are Humboldt Penguins, Flamingoes and Pariguana.
