Why we like it
- Colonial style hacienda
- Small simple hotel that is a convenient gateway to this largely undiscovered but richly rewarding northern region
- Free Wi-Fi in the public hacienda rooms
Travel to the Kuélap ruins is no longer a destination only for hardcore backpackers but now offers some comfortable lodging options for those in search of adventure away from the crowds of visitors in the south of the country.
We shall again recommend to all our friends that they must always travel with Abercrombie & Kent for a perfectly arranged visit
- TW, London
The rustic two-storey structure features a red-tile roof and wooden balconies opening onto a colonial courtyard with gardens and a centerpiece fountain.
The majority of the 21 rooms are in the old hacienda, with an additional 8 in the "Casa Nueva," a new modern annexe. The hacienda sits on an estate with a grove of chirimoyas (tropical fruit trees) on the banks of the River Utcubamba.
The hacienda has been sympathetically restored and whilst not luxurious, it has been completely updated with an inviting outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi in the public hacienda rooms.
