Day 1 - London/LimaToday you will take an overnight flight from London to Lima via Madrid.
Day 2 - Lima
On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel you have the rest of the day to relax.
Day 3 - Lima
After a leisurely morning enjoy an afternoon city tour of Lima beginning with the historic quarter, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can wander around the Plaza Mayor, the official centre of the city and the original site on which Lima was founded. Continue on to the historic Cathedral and the Presidential Palace.
Day 4 - Lima/Arequipa
Fly southwards to Arequipa, an attractive colonial town in the shadow of the Andes. In the afternoon you have the afternoon at leisure to visit the pretty 16th century Santa Catalina convent and stroll around the main square the Plaza de Armas.
Day 5 - Arequipa/Colca
Canyon Drive through the spectacular scenery of the Aguada Blanca National reserve, under the shadows of Ampato Volcano, to your lodge located deep in the heart of the Colca Canyon. Here you can choose from a variety of excursions including a chance to observe condors in flights over the canyon, visit to local villages or marvel at the beautiful pre-colombian terraces that are still farmed today.
Day 6 - Colca Canyon
After a morning spent further exploring the canyon you will set off towards Lake Titicaca and arrive at your hotel in Puno.
Day 7 - Lake Titicaca
Explore the lake by boat on a full day tour today, meandering around the Uros floating reed islands and heading to Taquile Island, home to a local Quechua-speaking community.
Day 8 - Puno / Cusco
Today you will transfer to the airport to board your flight to Cusco, the capital of the Incan Empire. You will be met and driven to your charming city hotel and have the rest of the day to explore at your leisure.
Day 9 - Cusco
Explore this beautiful colonial city built on Incan foundations on a walking tour of its cobbled streets and pretty plazas. Discover the main square flanked by colonial archways and then head to the Inca site of Sacsayhuaman overlooking the city.
Day 10 - Sacred Valley
Explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the colourful town of Pisac and the impressive Incan fortress at Ollantaytambo. You can also visit our A&K Philanthropy Project, 'Children of the Rainbow', which offers a future to extremely deprived children in this region providing food, medical and dental care, a school and additional education.
Day 11 - Cusco/Machu Picchu
Take the spectacular train journey to Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas in the tropical foothills of the Andes, and get your first sight of the impressive site of Machu Picchu. Overnight at a beautiful hotel in Aguas Calientes on the banks of the Urubamba River.
Day 12 - Machu Picchu/Cusco
A chance to admire these breath-taking ruins again at sunrise and then return by rail and road to Cusco where you will spend your final night.
Day 13 - Cusco/Lima
This morning you will be transferred to Lima to connect with your overnight flight from Lima to London via Madrid.

Being such a geographically diverse country the weather in Peru is determined both by altitude and season. May to October is the best time to travel although the Amazon area is hot and humid throughout the year.
