THE HOTEL
African and Asian influences come together in this lavish resort hotel on the island of Madeira. The international influences are epitomised by countless sculptures and artefacts of a quality normally seen in national museums.

The main features of the buildings are wood and stone, combined with glass facades to let in the clear light of the Atlantic. Thirty-four bungalows made mainly of wood and stone are set on stilts and all 60 rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished and offer the latest technology.  A further four suites offer even more space with the added luxury of outdoor Jacuzzis.

This hotel occupies a stunning location high in the hills.  The views are beautiful, taking in the port far below and the azure sea beyond.

We recommendEnjoy the Levada dos Tornos walk towards Monte will take you about one hour 30 minutes, visit the Gardens of Monte Palace before talking the cable car to the city centre to the market and then catch the complimentary transfer back to your room.

Best time to be there

Spring and autumn are the most pleasant times to visit. July and August can be very hot, especially in the sheltered bays of the
Algarve in the south, though this region is especially pleasant and mild during the winter months. Madeira and the Azores benefit from the warming influence of the Gulf Stream, so can be visited year round.
