THE HOTEL
Generous space and pared-down sophistication are the trademarks of this superb new property, which takes its name from the vines used to make the island's world-famous Madeira wine. The Vine's gleaming façade, all sleek lines in silver and glass, has created a new landmark in the centre of Fuchal.
Inside this hotel a real treat awaits. The interiors reflect the unique vision of award-winning Portuguese designer Nini Andrade Silva, whose 79 rooms and suites offer the perfect blend of top-of-the-line amenities, high-tech facilities and, in some cases, breathtaking views over the city or harbour. The design is almost minimalist, driven by designer fittings, but made welcoming and relaxed by lovely ornaments and super-comfortable furniture.
The Vine succeeds in combining luxurious surroundings with personalised service and outstanding hospitality in a superb setting.
Spring and autumn are the most pleasant times to visit. July and August can be very hot, especially in the sheltered bays of the
Algarve in the south, though this region is especially pleasant and mild during the winter months. Madeira and the Azores benefit from the warming influence of the Gulf Stream, so can be visited year round.
