2016 marks the 100th anniversary since the completion of the Trans-Siberian Railway. To celebrate what is undoubtedly the world's greatest railway journey, Golden Eagle Luxury Trains is hosting two exclusive Trans-Siberian routes between Moscow and Vladivostok, including special commemorative events throughout.

Day 1 Moscow, Russia
Arrive at Ritz-Carlton Moscow, ideally located at the edge of the famed Red Square Meet your fellow travellers over a welcome dinner this evening.

Day 2 Moscow, Russia
Today starts with an exclusive private viewing of the Kremlin and its State Armoury before it opens to the public, followed by a visit to Red Square, Lenin's Tomb and the vibrant St. Basil's cathedral. After lunch at Cafe Pushkin, head to Moscow Kazansky Station for a glass of Russian chempagne and canapes, and to board the Golden Eagle.

Day 3 Kazan, Russia
Situated on the River Volga, the picturesque and historic city of Kazan - the capital of Tatarstan - has a rich tapestry of history and culture. One of the highlights of your tour today is the Kremlin Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 4 Yekaterinburg, Russia

Founded in 1723 by Peter the Great, Yekaterinburg is the capital of the Urals. Today's city tour will take you to the poignant site where Tsar Nicholas II and his entire family were murdered by the Bolsheviks in 1918, and which is now a church dedicated to their memory.

Day 5 Novosibirsk, Russia
A modern 'Soviet' city, you'll experience Novosibirsk's rich culture today, where the arts and science predominate.

Day 6 Sayan Mountains & Abakan, Russia
Enjoy the peaceful pace on board, as the Golden Eagle climbs through the spectacular Sayan Mountains, which stretch for over 1,000kms.

Day 7 Onto the Bam - Tayshet to Bratsk
Overnight you travel north-east to Tayshet where you officially join the BAM (Baikal - Amur Mainline), the new line that runs north and parallel to the original Trans-Siberian. Spend a few hours exploring the city of Bratsk.

Day 8 Severobaikalsk, Russia
Arrive into the extremely remote location of Severobaikalsk (North Baikal), where the BAM provides a vital lifeline. Meet the local inhabitants and explore the unique biodiversity.

Day 9 Novoya Chara, Russia
Spend part of your day in Novoya Chara, a small place lost in Siberia famous for its Charoite.

Day 10 Tynda, Russia

Heading east you visit Tynda, built to be the administrative centre for the construction of the BAM route during the 1970s.

Day 11 Novy Urgal, Russia

Travelling through the untouched Tundra we experience Russia at its most remote. Novy Urgal is a town situated towards the eastern end of the BAM line.

Day 12 Komsomolsk, Russia
Komsomolsk reflects the majestic and expansive urban architecture of the Soviet era, including the stupendous Pervostroitelei Avenue.

Day 13 Khabarovsk, Russia
Stretching along the banks of the Amur River, Khabarovsk was founded as a military post in 1858, but the region had been populated by several indigenous peoples of the Far East for many centuries.

Day 14 Vladivostok, Russia
Vladivostok is a military port, located on the western shores of the Sea of Japan and is home to the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet. Due to its military importance, the city was closed to foreigners between 1930 and 1992.
