Russia,
The Romanov family are the most famous of Russia Czars. For them, journeys along the Volga River between Moscow and St Petersburg were a regular feature of their calendar. The imperial yacht, the Standart of Nicholas II was supposedly the envy of every monarch in Europe.
With Abercrombie and Kent you can now enjoy this wonderful voyage from the deck of a fabulous riverboat as it glides through the lakes, rivers and canals that connect Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The Ship:
The MS Volga Dream carries 109 passengers in 56 comfortable cabins, each, with either a window (Sun Deck, Promenade Deck, Main Deck) or porthole (Cabin Deck). All are equipped with air conditioning, mini-bar, safe deposit box, telephone, flat screen TV offering international satellite TV programs, as well as various radio and music channel options. There are 60 crew to look after the passengers, more than one per cabin.
All of your meals are included onboard and each is carefully planned from a varied menu of Russian and European recipes. Your stateroom will offer a river view from a large picture window, private shower and bathroom facilities and individual climate control. Your boat has an elegant dining room, a lounge with bar and a spacious sun deck- all with spectacular views.
Our recommended itinerary includes one night in either Moscow or St Petersburg plus the six night cruise, but we would certainly recommend spending more time in each of these great cities exploring their hidden secrets and great fascinations.
