Day 2 Cape Town
Start the day with a beautiful drive to Table Mountain;you'll ascend to its sky-high plateau by cable car (weather permitting) for dazzling views of city and sea. Back at sea level, explore old Cape Town and its notable buildings such as Groote Kerk(South Africa's oldest church), City Hall and the Grand Parade with your guide, then on to the pentagonal Castle of Good Hope. Built by the Dutch East India Company as a maritime refreshment station, it later became the centre of military life in the Cape. You'll also visit Streetwires, an artisan workshop where locals come together to craft unique wire and bead art, now successfully exported to over 15 countries worldwide. Spend the afternoon as you wish before the evening's welcome dinner, where the resident chef or sommelier will guide you through a contemporary feast.

Day 3 Cape Town
The road hugs the Atlantic coast on the drive to Cape Point, the mountainous and scenic promontory at the south western tip of the continent. On the way, you'll passClifton and Camps Bay beaches at the base of the towering Twelve Apostles Mountains, the bustling fishing harbour at bucolic Hout Bay and experience the famous Chapman's Peak Drive. On reaching the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and the stunning Cape Peninsula there is plenty of time to explore;you may like to take the Flying Dutchman funicular up to the pinnacle of the famously blustery cape which overlooks the perilous waters. From July to November you may see southern right whales breaching out at sea. On the return journey to Cape Town, stop at Boulders Beach to visit its colony of endangered African penguins which are accustomed to humans and provide splendid photo opportunities. The day's touring concludes at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden where you'll be joined by a local guide to show you around the indigenous plant species before spending a leisurely evening exploring the city's harbour front and boutique shops, or dining in one of Cape Town's world-class restaurants.

As this region has one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa, you never know what you will see next;animals often appear just steps away in front of you. As you explore, your guide will teach you about the flora and fauna as well as basic tracking skills. In between game drives, you may like to take part in a special Chef 's Table experience, learning how to cook traditional African stew. As the sun sets each evening, you'll stop at a thoughtfully chosen location for sundowners, before setting off back to the lodge for a hearty dinner, keeping your eyes peeled all the way for nocturnal animals such as civets and porcupine.
