With over 40 years of expereince of hosting guests on safaris let the Rattray family spoil and indulge your senses while on safari with phenomenal rangers and at the lodge with exquisite service and cuisine.
Joanne Swinton dealt with us and our holiday with endless good humour and patience. Her suggestions were perfect and we all had a magical time. She really knew her "stuff". She even organised a car and driver for our first full day in Dar es Salaam which was a kindness beyond any duty. She arranged for our unaccompanied children to be chaperoned through all the airports, and for my husband and me to be taken care of too.

Spacious suites at Rattray's offer the discerning traveller private plunge pools, enormous living areas and two bathrooms. Inside the main lodge there is a beautifully air-conditioned library well stocked for the avid reader, an attractive bar and an adjoining wine cellar with a wide range of South Africa's best wines. Meals are either served in the elegant dining room, on the deck or in the traditional reed boma under the magnificent jackalberry tree. The game drives here reflect Rattray's desire to minimalise impact on the area and the result is that an impressive density and diversity of wildlife is to be seen.
Best time to be there
October to May is the best time to visit the Cape. Game viewing is better during the drier months of April to September. The wildflower season is generally from mid August to mid September. The whale watching season runs from June to November.
