Only twenty minutes from the V&A Waterfront, Constantia is one of the oldest suburbs in Cape Town and is famed for its historic wine route. Tranquil leafy streets provide a quiet haven within which some lovely boutique hotels and wine farm properties nestle.
Located within an hour's drive of Cape Town, the South Africa Winelands are made up of the valleys surrounding Franschhoek, Paarl and Stellenbosch. South Africa's finest wines are produced in this area, many of which are available to taste on the estates - even the smallest of producers have tasting rooms and resident experts are on hand to offer friendly advice. Don't miss out on the wine and chocolate experience at the Waterford Wine Estate followed by lunch at the excellent Terroir Restaurant on the Kleine Zalze Wine Estate.
The South Africa Winelands are perfect for exploring fantastic cuisine and Franschhoek has become well known as the gastronomic capital of the region offering many award-winning restaurant options. There are many fine examples of Cape Dutch architecture with white gabled homesteads situated amongst linear vineyards with craggy mountainous backdrops. Leafy lanes meandering through the picturesque wine estates making it a great area to explore.
