Just 40 miles south of Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo, Bentota is the perfect place to relax after after your bespoke touring holiday around the country. Coconut palm trees dominate the area, which is lush and green, while the beaches are sandwiched between the ocean and the Bentota Lagoon.
The best time for your Bentota holiday is from December to March. The area is a magnet for the more adventurous who enjoy jet skiing, windsurfing and surfing, but if you prefer something a bit slower paced there are river cruises along the River Bentara as it flows into the lagoon.
