Serene Pavilions is an exclusive beachside retreat offering 12 lavishly appointed Pavilions with private Butler service set in a seven acre coconut grove facing the Indian Ocean, just a 45-minute drive south from Colombo. The hotel offers an ideal Sri Lankan holiday experience for those seeking luxury, seclusion, tranquillity and exceptional service. The idyllic, tranquil setting and the child policy (over 15 years old welcome) make Serene Pavilions the perfect spot for romance and very special occasions such as weddings, honeymoons and anniversaries.
The luxurious Pavilions, each with individual private plunge pools and spacious decked outside living areas, have been designed with an emphasis on space and tranquillity using Balinese and Sri Lankan influences and architecture. There are 8 ocean-facing one-bedroom pavilions, 3 two-bedroom garden pavilions and 1 one-bedroom garden pavilion, interlaced with walkways and water features amidst the landscaped gardens.
Each Pavilion consists of either one or two sumptuous bedrooms with a large marble en-suite bathroom with twin vanities and separate shower unit. The master bedrooms have a king-size four-poster bed, a dressing room and a Jacuzzi bath in the bathroom, whilst the second bedrooms in the two-bedroom Pavilions have two single beds. In each Pavilion, a large and airy living and dining area houses the Butler's pantry, the kitchenette and also offers a well stocked Private Bar. Pavilions are all equipped with a Home Entertainment System and have WiFi access. An electronic safe, a hairdryer, and tea and coffee makers are just some of the conveniences available to pamper the most sophisticated of guests. Attention to detail
Serene Pavilions' signature centrepiece is The Pavilions' Restaurant, and The Amritha Bar, which links the garden and pool areas to the beachfront gardens and quiet beach.
Located on the first floor, The Pavilions Restaurant offers spectacular panoramic views of the Indian Ocean for every diner, and provides a delicious a la carte menu including Eastern, Western, Asian and International cuisine. A wine cellar with an extensive range of global fine wines is available for the most discerning of palates. The Gourmet Executive Chef will personally create menus for guests which can be enjoyed in a variety of locations throughout the Hotel.
Within the gardens there is a large swimming pool with four sunken Jacuzzi beds, and a clay tennis court. Also available is the Serenity Spa, the well-equipped Asana Gym and a large Reception Lounge with an exclusive Gem Boutique. The Dhaarana Reading Room is home to the library with views to the tranquil ponds and swimming pool.

Best time to be there
During our winter months, when the humidity is lower and the temperature more comfortable for sightseeing and exploration. However, the monsoon season of May to September should not be discounted for travel as the whole of Sri Lanka is bursting into lush greenery due to the rainfall showing you a side of this island not everyone sees.
