Day 2 Colombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka’s enticing capital, known as the ‘garden city of the East’, thanks to its plethora of tumbling exotic flowers and open spaces. Recent development has improved its boroughs, from restoration of landmark architecture to glossy hotels and welcome seafront improvements. Your home is the slick and stylish Uga Residence, the perfect base from which to start a walking tour. We’ve arranged for historian Mark Forbes to take you on an insightful tour, where he’ll share with you many stories and anecdotes on the changing face of Sri Lanka.

Day 3 Colombo
Sometimes the best way to get under the skin of a new place is just losing yourself in the streets, that’s why we’ve factored in a free day to explore at your own pace. We can arrange a variety of activities, from playing a round of golf at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, sampling the sophisticated High Tea at Galle Face Hotel, or witnessing traditional angampora – Sri Lanka’s indigenous martial art.

Best time to be there
During our winter months, when the humidity is lower and the temperature more comfortable for sightseeing and exploration. However, the monsoon season of May to September should not be discounted for travel as the whole of Sri Lanka is bursting into lush greenery due to the rainfall showing you a side of this island not everyone sees.
