Day 1 Arrive Sinharaja
Your A&K guide will drive you deep into the Sinharaja Rainforest; at four hours from the capital of Colombo and five hours from Tea Country a tour of Sinharaja can easily be fitted into any tour of Sri Lanka. The forest reserve is the last remaining intact area of rainforest on the island, unspoiled by tourism and officially designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1989. Here you will stay at Rainforest Eco Lodge, a cluster of 16 chalets constructed from recycled former shipping containers with views over the forest canopy.

Day 2 Sinharaja
The forest itself is spellbinding. Shrouded by replenishing rainclouds, hemmed in by a duo of rivers (the Koskulana Ganga in the north and Gin Ganga in the south) and peered over by lumbering peaks, the Sinharaja is a tangle of wilderness and is home to wide array of wildlife. Nature interpreters will guide you on walks through the forest, sharing the secrets hidden among the trees. Nocturnal walks are also possible where you can listen to the sounds of the night as the jungle takes on a life of its own.

Day 3 Depart Sinharaja
A member of the A&K team will collect you for your onward exploration of Sri Lanka.

At A&K all of our journeys are individually tailored to suit your needs and timescale. As a guide, this 3 day suggested holiday will cost from £420 per person, based on two sharing excluding international flights. Includes breakfast, dinner and three rainforest treks.
