Guest Testimonial

As always everything was above and beyond expectations! Thank you so much.

- CB, London

The Art Nouveau building was originally designed by architects Hagström & Ekman before being transformed into a luxury design hotel by Sweden's leading architecture firm Wingardhs. Newly opened in spring 2014, Hotel Clara is located in Sveavägen 48 - one of the most popular urban addresses in all of Sweden.

The grand high ceilings and classic architecture contrasts with contemporary design pieces scattered throughout. Rooms are light and fresh, with chic marble bathrooms and a main focus on the expansive arched windows with views out to the city. The spacious Etage Suites have stunning dark herringbone floors with the large windows extending over both floors, while the Deluxe Rooms have stylish limestone bathrooms and boast views over the courtyard or Adolf Fredrik kyrkogata.

Alessandro Catenacci is the brains behind many of Stockholm's most prestigious restaurants and nightspots, and has a keen eye for quality having recently added the distinct luxury of Miss Clara to his collection. The hotel's vibrant restaurant and bar thrives with savvy-locals and hotel guests alike, while the menu impresses with principal dishes such as roasted Gotland lamb with rolled brisket and grilled Bjäre chicken breast.

Best time to be there
Best visited during the long summer days from May to September when the midnight sun brings 24 hours of daylight, ideal if you are planning to spend much of your time outdoors.
Despite the very cold winters, there is still a great deal to do and see, from husky sledding to ice hotel stays and, between November and March, the chance to witness the Northern Lights.
