THE HOTEL
Set beside beautiful gardens and rising high above the centre of ancient Damascus, the Four Seasons is within easy reach of shops and restaurants. Relaxed and calm, it is a perfect base from which to explore this wonderful city, replete with bustling markets, ancient Mosques and souks.
Extremely comfortable and spacious, and with superb views, the hotel's rooms and suites are the finest in the city. Their large bathrooms incorporate a deep tub with a separate glass-walled shower stall.
We certainly recommend a trip to the Spa, where you can choose from a range of rejuvenating treatment or simply allow the steam rooms to melt away tension.
Our favourite restaurant was the intimate Syrian fine dining restaurant Al Halabi. Try the popular Syrian Mezze (appetisers) and Arabic breads for an authentic and delicious, dining experience.
Syria has a predictable, mild Mediterranean climate all year round with hot and dry summers and mild wet winters. Spring and Autumn are the best times for European visitors.
