Weather

Due to Tanzania's proximity to the equator the climate is generally warm year round ranging between 25°C to 32°C, there are however regional variations. With two rain seasons, the 'short rains' fall between November and December whilst the 'long rains' between February and into early May. The best time to travel to Tanzania is between December and March and July and October.

Katavi National Park remains one of the greatest wildlife experiences of Africa. Remote and untouched, it has an almost mythical status and it's thought a greater density of mammals than any other Tanzanian reserve. Rivers literally groan with hippopotamus and crocodiles, while the plains play host to some of the great herds of buffalo in East Africa, up to 1000 head.
