Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, standing at 19,340 feet (5,896m). Located in Northern Tanzania, bordering Kenya, it also spans five different ecological zones, making it one of the most varied peaks on Earth to climb.

Nearly 800 clients climb Kilimanjaro with A&K every year and we are the only international tour operator with our own dedicated Kilimanjaro climbing operation. We use only the finest mountain apparatus, safety equipment, communications network and specialist tents on the mountain. Safety is our priority, therefore we are one of the few operators carrying oxygen bottles, altitude chambers, first aid kits and multiple communication measures on every climb. All of our guides are trained in first aid, mountain craft, natural history as well as ecological awareness, ensuring a once in a lifetime experience.

    The Routes
There are a number of routes to choose from for the Kilimanjaro climb. The durations detailed are the minimum number of days to climb, however we strongly advise additional acclimatisation days where possible. In addition to the detailed Machame route and Marangu route, we can also guide you on the Umbwe and Rongai routes.

Kilimanjaro climbing holidays with Abercrombie & Kent will help you to experince first-hand the wonders of this amazing region.
