A Sample itinerary of a Wayo Walking Safari:
Day 1
On arrival in the Northern Serengeti (Kogatende) area you will be collected by vehicle and guide at a prearranged location. You will then have a small game drive to the Walking camp located in a site called Rock Camp. You will arrive in time for lunch. After and afternoon siesta, while you wait for the heat of the day to pass you will set off for a short afternoon walk which will end on a rock with sundowners. The evening will be spend in camp around the campfire and African stars.
Day 2
This morning will be a 06:00 wake up, light breakfast in camp and you will set off on a full day walk around 07:00. Our aim today will be to walk to a new camp set on the banks of the Mara River. This 10km downhill walk will be an easy stroll getting us to camp in the mid afternoon. We will carry a breakfast and lunch sandwich with us and we will enjoy this in nice remote spots in the wilderness.
The afternoon walk will depend on the group and we might only walk to a scenic corner of the river and enjoy another sundowner before a night around the campfire.
Day 3
You will spend another night in this same camp on the banks for the Mara River thus today's walks will focus on the surrounding areas. You will explore the river-banks on a morning and afternoon walk with lunch and siesta in camp.
Day 4
There should be time for a quick morning walk, breakfast and a game drive back to a more central area where you will continue your safari.
