THE LODGE
Matemwe Lodge is situated on coral reef overlooking a fine powder beach and distant coral reef on the northeast coast of Zanzibar Island. Well maintained flowerbeds line the paths from the rooms to an open air restaurant. Activities include sailing in Ngalawa outriggers, snorkelling, scuba diving, big-game fishing, reef walks, bicycle-hire with picnic lunches and visits to the local fish market.  Matemwe Lodge offers a great escape from the bustle and hustle that surrounds much of Zanzibar.

We recommendEnjoy a cocktail in the new beach bar which has been built in the remnants of an old fishing dhow.

Guest Testimonial

Quite simply excellent. If I could say one thing it is that Egypt is the place to go right now, as there were virtually no tourists at some of the sights and that,I should think, is quite rare!
