Bangkok , Thailand
The Eugenia is embodied in a late 19 -century colonial-style house, charmingly decorated and tastefully furnished by its owner in the heart of down town Bangkok. Each of the 12-suites of The Eugenia have four-posted beds and style in an old world of architectural beauty. The period decoration even extends to the bathtubs that are made of hand-beaten copper and aluminium-alloy.
The lobby, the reception area, the cafe, the library and the lounge are set on the ground floor while all the twelve rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors in the main building.
The swimming pool and the Thai sala are set in the rear courtyard; the entire pool area harkens back to a more leisurely time where people of taste sipped tea or coffee and partook of the finest delectable fares under swaying palm trees on balmy sub-tropical evenings.
November to March. April is often the hottest month of the year, and also the month of the celebratory 'Songkran' festivals. May to October is the rainy season, with short bursts of rainstorms refreshing the green paddy fields once more.
