THE HOTEL
Outstanding in every regard, the Four Seasons is a converted 19th-century palace, with a fresh, eclectic spirit. From its grand façade to its sun washed outside spaces and flawless interiors, retaining their glorious original features, this hotel is an absolute delight. In addition, from its waterfront location, it is cooled by gentle breezes and is in the heart of the city's attractions.
The 170 guest rooms, including 25 suites, are bright and airy. Based on a striking blend of Ottoman design and contemporary mahogany furnishings, décor is a rich palette of deep blue or terracotta, accented by shades of copper and burgundy. Ornate ceilings feature hand-painted traditional motifs, and lithographs representative of Turkish and Ottoman art adorn the walls. Overall they are elegant and welcoming, with the homely yet pristine feel of an exclusive residence.
The coastal areas of Turkey bordering the Med have hot, dry summers and cold, wet winters. Conditions are harsher in the more arid interior, with average temperatures in Istanbul ranging from just above freezing in January to around 30˚C in August.
