In the western arm of the Great East African Rift Valley, Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in the world. From open savannah to rainforest, from dense papyrus swamps and brooding crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward, it is home to 95 mammal species and a remarkable 606 bird species.  The Kazinga Channel is a highlight with its boat trip being especially good for viewing hippo, buffalo, elephant and a vast array of birds. The Ishasha plains in the southwest of the park are famous for its tree climbing lions - an opportunity not be missed on any safari holiday.  The steeply forested walls of Kyambura Gorge are home to a small resident chimpanzee population that has been habituated to humans. It is thus possible to track chimpanzees within the gorge with a fairly good success rate.

Guest Testimonial

Quite simply excellent. If I could say one thing it is that Egypt is the place to go right now, as there were virtually no tourists at some of the sights and that,I should think, is quite rare!
