- Visit the North Shore of Oahu and the famous 'pipeline' with stops for a plate lunch and shaved Ice (like the locals!)
- Sunrise bike ride down Mt Haleakala on Maui
- Thrilling helicopter tour of Big Island and its amazing volcanic landscape
- Night snorkelling with Manta Rays
Days 1 - 2 Honolulu
Honolulu and Waikiki resorts are located close by on Oahu, so you're very well-placed for exploring the island with your hire car. A self-guided orientation tour of Honolulu is a great way to get your bearings;we recommend heading to My Tantalus for incredible views and a great perspective over the city, where you can also hike around the former volcano. A scenic drive around the city affords views of the Iolani Palace (the only royal palace in the USA!), Kawaiahao Church, Kapahulu Avenue's funky stores or the Bishop Museum. Chinatown is a great stop for lunch before visiting Pearl Harbour and the USS Arizona. With this visit experience the history, tragedy, and heroism of the attack that brought the US into World War II.

Day 3 North Shore
Oahu's North Shore is the legendary surf capital of the world, so make sure you check out all the famous surf contest spots such as the Pipeline, Sunset and Waimea Bay. In historic Haleiwa town you can eat lunch the way locals do with a 'plate lunch' and shave ice. Get even more hands on in exploring Hawaii's food by stopping at the local fruit vendor stands on the side of the road before building up your tan on the white sand beaches, where you can snorkel at Hanauma Bay. Unlike other top snorkelling spots, the sea life in Hanauma Bay is not afraid of humans. You can get up close to the turtles, tropical fish, eels and other sea creatures.

Days 4 - 6 Maui
It's farewell to Oahu but aloha to Maui, famous for its natural beauty spots. You'll see lots of these during your time here, especially during your once in a lifetime bike ride down Mount Haleakala. It's an early start: your journey begins with a panoramic view of the crater in Haleakala National Park before coasting gently down to sea level to the original territorial capital of Hawaii, Paia. Breakfast will be a welcome refresher after your descent. Still after some excitement? How about a kayak adventure? Pick the right season and your kayaking trip will also be a whale watching excursion, with a relaxed paddle offshore and searching for the marine life that calls the area home, such as the majestic humpbacks, and the chance to snorkel with green Hawaiian sea turtles. We recommend taking some time before you head off to explore some of the island's more remote canyons and waterfalls, which you can swim through (or practice cannonballs).

Day 7 - 11 Big Island
Big Island is indeed big, and there's plenty of room for adventure. Throw yourself into the action with a zip lining ride over the mountain forest on the slopes of extinct volcano Kohala. Zipping from tree to tree, you fly past the plants of Hawaii, native kukui trees and fragrant gingers, blossoming ohia shrubs and magnificent eucalyptus. ATV riding will take you through the spectacular scenery on top of the 200-foot sea cliffs with views of the impressive surf. The adventures don't stop as you'll also have the chance to snorkel with manta rays, at night time no less. These incredible creatures live off the Kona Coast and are surprisingly friendly to humans. Still in the mood for action? How about a helicopter tour of the island? Your pilot will fly you to the most geologically active environment on Earth –the famous Kilauea Volcano, which has been continuously erupting since 1983. As you soar over the island you will view lava flows and black sand beaches. Experience all the awesome spectacle of Madame Pele's lava and volcanic activity, then explore the lush rainforests of the Hamakua Coast where the towering sea cliffs open into the deep valleys of the Kohala Mountains. Here beautiful waterfalls cascade thousands of feet into the rainforest below and remnants of ancient Hawaiian settlements are still visible. It's the perfect conclusion to your Hawaiian adventure before you head home.
