Day 1 –2 Scottsdale
On arrival to the Phoenix Airport, collect your family style car rental and head to the heart of the Sonora Dessert to Scottsdale. Check in the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort &Spa at Gainey Ranch. Put your feet up and shake that jetlag! Spend the next day exploring Scottsdale on your own. With the freedom of your hire car you can drive into the countryside, visit Old Town Scottsdale or simply enjoy the fantastic pools and facilities at your hotel. We also recommend visiting the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix. The museum houses thousands of instruments from around the world, and provides concerts and educational programs.

Day 3 - 4 Sedona
Begin your drive northward through the beautiful desert canyon. This is a two hour drive. Arrive at the Enchantment Resort, where you will stay for the next two nights. This afternoon, relax by the swimming pool or take a short hike through the back trails behind Enchantment.  The next day meet your private guide for an off-road adventure tour through the red rocks of Sedona with a stop at a Native American cliff dwelling. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a beautiful natural setting. The late afternoon is yours to take in the dramatic scenery and enjoy the resort's facilities and superb spa. After dinner, meet a professional astronomer for private evening stargazing.

Day 5 – 6 Camping in the Grand Canyon / Overnight Grand Canyon
Drive 2.5 hours to Grand Canyon National Park. Afternoon free to go to the Visitors Centre on your own. In the mid-afternoon, meet your private guide for a sunset hike and settle in at camp or selected hotel. The next day you have a full day to explore Grand Canyon with your private guide. Hike the less-travelled South Kaibab Trail down into the Canyon. Explore the South Rim Village, Yavapai Observation Station, Native American sites, and the Geology Museum.

Day 7 Lake Powell
Enjoy a sunrise hike with your private guide. After breakfast, pack up your belongings and continue 3 hours to Lake Powell and check into Lake Powell Resort, you home for the next three nights. Your afternoon is free to explore on your own. Perhaps take a sunset trip on Lake Powell whilst the sun sets.

Day 8 Monument Valley
Monument Valley is an area sacred to the Navajo National and its people. From your hotel, drive about two hours to Monument Valley. Meet your Navajo guide who will lead you through the area to view the unusual rock formations that are characteristic of this area. Enjoy a traditional Navajo Taco Lunch prepared by your guide. Your visit will include sites open exclusively to native people and their guests. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 9 Colorado River Float Trip
Today you'll enjoy a shared float trip on the Colorado River through Glen Canyon. On board, float through sheer walls over 1,000 feet tall on the gentle waters of this portion of the river, with a stop for lunch in a beautiful natural setting. After your float trip, continue to the nearby Big Water Visitors Centre for a private tour and learn the story of the local paleontologist, Merle Graffam, who discovered the fossilized skeleton of a dinosaur never before seen in North America. Merle may even be working at the Visitors Centre this day as the park ranger on duty and will tell you his amazing story of discovery.

Day 10 Zion National Park
Depart your hotel and drive 2 hours to Zion. Zion National Park and its sister Bryce Canyon National Park are two gems on the Colorado Plateau in Southern Utah. Here you'll spend a wholesome two days hiking amidst the forest of pinnacles, hunting for dinosaur fossils, learning about native tribes, or riding the trails on horseback. Afternoon explore and hike with private guide at Zion National Park. In the late afternoon, a 30-minute drive will take you to Zion Mountain Ranch for the next two nights, a true western-style ranch.

Day 11 Bryce Canyon National Park
Enjoy a two-hour scenic drive through the magnificent canyon country from the ranch to Bryce Canyon National Park, where you will meet your private guide for a day of canyoneering in Bryce's backcountry. The forest of pinnacles here is spectacular, and your private guide will lead you to some of the best vista points. Return to the ranch in the late afternoon and why not sit around the campfire for s'mores and stargazing.
Zion Mountain Ranch | Meals: Breakfast

Day 12 Depart for Home
After breakfast, drive 3 hours to Las Vegas. Return your hire car and board your onward flight or extend your stay in Las Vegas.
