Best time to be there

Due to the incredibly varied landscape of Venezuela, the climate varies. June to November is when Angel Falls are at their fullest although it can be humid. November to April is the best time to visit the Los Llanos area, whilst Los Roques is an all year round destination.

Los Llanos

One of the most beautiful regions in Venezuela is "los llanos", with its huge plains where the horizon seems endless and both the vegetation and the fauna are full of beauty.

In this region there are only two very different seasons: Rainy and Dry season. During the former, a large part of the region is under water and the woods and rivers flourish. In the latter season the foliage becomes yellow and brown and the plains are covered in dust.  This is the season when you will see more wildlife as the animals and birds all congregate to drink at the scarce number of watering holes.  Types of animals you can expect to see are crocodiles and toninas (similar to dolphins), deer, chiguires, jaguars, foxes, monkeys and many different varieties of birds.

Moving cattle is a very important part of the local way of life and cattle breeding plays a very important role in the local economy.
