    Classic Zambia

    Zambia, 8 Nights

    Day 1 - London/Lusaka
In London, board your overnight British Airways flight to Lusaka.

    Day 2 - Lusaka/Luangwa Valley
On arrival in Lusaka, board a light aircraft to the Luangwa Valley, an astonishing region of ancient forests and lush savannas. Here you will stay in a choice of two Sanctuary Lodges & Camps, Puku Ridge Camp and Chichele Presidential Lodge. Both are beautiful, small and intimate. Formerly a private Presidential retreat, Chichele occupies one of the most breathtaking sites in the entire park whilst Puku Ridge is situated in a remote wildlife area in South Luangwa National Park and is located in a very high game rich wild life area. Due to their size, space will determine which property will be your home for the following three nights.

    Days 3 to 4 - Luangwa Valley
Spend the next two days exploring this stunningly beautiful area. Walking safaris with skilled and experienced guides were pioneered in Zambia and remain the special attraction in this wonderful region, offering the chance to take things at a slower place and experience the bush at a much more personal level. There is also plenty of opportunity to go on game drives and to enjoy sundowners on the Luangwa River. Remote and atmospheric, the African bush will enter your soul.

    Day 5 - Luangwa Valley/Lower Zambezi
After breakfast, fly to the Lower Zambezi and Zambezi Kulefu Camp, your home for the next two nights. This intimate camp is located on the banks of the Zambezi River in a lovely sheltered and tree-dappled area and has a sophisticated and luxurious atmosphere. Accommodation at Kulefu is in the form of seven spacious en suite tents, with bath tubs looking out over the river.

    Day 6 - Lower Zambezi
Zambezi Kulefu Camp offers a large range of game-viewing activities including game drives (both day and night), walking safaris, canoeing, boating and fishing for the world-renowned tiger fish. If all that action is a bit too much, spend the heat of the day relaxing under the great acacia tree and around the swimming pool.

    Days 7 to 8 - Lower Zambezi/Livingstone
Catch your light aircraft flight up to Livingstone, from where you will be transferred to Sussi & Chuma, located in the heart of the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park on the banks of the Zambezi River. This stunning lodge will be your home for the last two nights of your Zambian adventure. Here you can enjoy game drives in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park where Zambia's only white rhino can be spotted. Stunning early morning or sunset river cruises on the majestic Zambezi are also a must. Other activities you might like to try include fishing on the Zambezi, a visit to Livingstone and Victoria Falls, white water rafting, horseback or elephant safaris, helicopter and microlight adventures or bungi jumping.

    Day 9 - Livingstone/London
This morning depart for the airport for your flight to Johannesburg to connect with your onward flight to London, arriving early day ten.

    Kafue Extension
Extend your stay in Zambia with an extension to the Kafue National Park, Africa's largest National Park - the size of Wales. Seasonal flooding brings a huge diversity of wildlife, with regular lion sightings as well as leopard, cheetah and occasional visiting packs of wild dog. Spend three nights at Kapinga camp in heart of the Busanga Plains.

    Pricing
At A&K all of our journeys are individually tailored to suit your needs and timescale. However, as a guide, this 9 day Classic Zambia itinerary will cost from £4,100 per person based on two adults sharing with flights from the UK and subject to availability.
