Depart the UK on the overnight flight to Lusaka via Johannesburg.
Connect with the flight to Lusaka and travel onwards to Zambia's South Luangwa Valley. Home of the walking safari, you will experience the thrill of trekking big game on foot a must-see for anyone in this beautiful part of the world. Spend three nights at Sanctuary Chichele Presidential Lodge, where children of all ages are welcome and activities such as looking for animal tracks will be arranged.
Explore the South Luangwa National Park. This region is well known for its leopard population as well as smaller creatures such as genet cats, honey badgers and porcupine. Children aged five and above are able to go on the game drives. Night drives will bring an added dimension to your safari that children will find thrilling; spotlights are used to highlight animals.
Days 5 to 7
Continue to the Lower Zambezi National Park for family friendly activities such as canoeing and catch and release tiger fishing. Canoe safaris bring the river to life, with opportunities to observe elephant or hippo at close range on the water, stopping along the way to admire the abundant birdlife. Staying at Chiawa Camp for three nights.
Fly to Livingstone just a short drive away from the world-famous Victoria Falls. Your home for the next two nights is the Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma lodge, nestled on the banks of the Zambezi river this is the perfect place to spend a couple of nights as a family. This afternoon take a cruise on the river and watching the African sunset.
Today enjoy an array of activities, in May the Falls are at their fullest and you will literally be power-washed as you take the trails to see them. Ponchos and dry sacks are provided but be prepared to get very, very wet! Nearby meet the children at Nakatindi village as they show you around their school. For older children looking for an adrenaline rush, there is bungee jumping and white water rafting on the Zambezi - or the whole family might enjoy a scenic helicopter flight over the Victoria Falls.
Enjoy a leisurely morning, take a walk to the local village or try your hand at fishing, in season you might be lucky and catch a tiger fish. Fly via Johannesburg for your overnight flight back to London.

The best time to travel is between April and June, there is little to no rain rainfall and the Falls are at their fullest. These are the winter months therefore temperatures will only peak at around 20°C, although days are clear and bright.
