Days 1 - 2 UK / Johannesburg
Take an overnight flight to Johannesburg, where you’ll take a connecting flight to Hara-re and a light aircraft to Mana Pools. Your camp,Ruckomechi Camp, is set in a large grove of acacia and mahogany trees, overlooking the Zambezi River.

Days 3 - 4 Mana Pools
A stellar combination of great game viewing, a multitude of activities and stunning scenery makes Ruckomechi Camp a fabulous choice. There is a private concession around the camp in an area renowned for its regular lion, elephant and leopard sightings. The central dining and lounge area is under cool thatch on the river’s edge facing the escarpment and a wooden viewing deck provides the perfect place for gazing at the Zambezi River and the mountains.

Day 5 Mana Pools / Lake Kariba
A light aircraft flight takes you to Bumi Hills Safari Lodge and Spa, located near Lake Kariba.

Day 6 Lake Kariba
Lake Kariba is among the world’s largest man-made lakes and a genuine African wilder-ness with far more animals than people. This allows for amazing game viewing by boat, 4x4 vehicle and walking in the wilds to see elephant and buffalo, huge Nile crocodiles, lions, hippo, the elusive leopard, kudu, impala, warthog, monkeys, baboons, sable, zebra - the list is seemingly endless.

Day 7 Lake Kariba / Hwange National Park
Fly from Lake Kariba to Hwange, the largest game reserve in Zimbabwe. Your choice of camp includes the traditional Davison’s Camp, the more modern Linkwasha, or the ele-vated tented chalets at Elephant’s Eye.

Days 8 - 9 Hwange National Park
You’ll have two full days to explore Hwange National Park. With a land area of more than 14,000 square kilometres, the park has over one hundred species of animal and over 400 species of bird. Hwange is also one of the few great elephant sanctuaries left in Africa.

Day 10 Hwange / Victoria Falls
Your final stop is possibly the most momentous of them all: the mighty Victoria Falls. Choose from the iconic Victoria Falls Hotel or the relaxing Victoria Falls River Lodge, located right on the banks of the Zambezi.

Day 11 Victoria Falls
The town of Victoria Falls lies on the southern bank of the Zambezi and has become a focal point for action-packed fun including enchanting sightseeing flights over the falls, called the ‘flight of angels’, which can be done by light-aircraft, helicopter and microlight. Those seeking further thrills can bungee jump over the Zambezi from the Knife Edge Bridge or raft down one of the world’s toughest stretches of white water.

Required for UK passport holders

The UNIVISA system (which allowed travellers to enter both Zimbabwe and Zambia using a dual visa) is currently suspended. If you’re travelling between Zimbabwe and Zambia (more than one entry either way), you should get a double entry visa for both countries. Both Zimbabwe and Zambia issue double entry visas at ports of entry.

Best time to travel

Apr-Jun when the water levels are at their greatest at Victoria Falls and large herds of animals can be seen in Hwange National Park. 


The best time to travel is between April and June, there is little to no rain and the Falls are at their fullest. These are the winter months therefore temperatures will only peak at around 20°C, although days are clear and bright.
