Highlights

Discover Kenya

Discover some of Kenya’s breathtaking national parks with this eight-day safari adventure. You’ll observe chimpanzees in a sanctuary at Ol Pejeta and attempt to tick off the Big Five at the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Beyond the Big Five, you’ll see the Samburu Five in this famed park – Grevy's zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the beisa oryx. Along the way there’ll be plenty of other African wildlife to see. With bush walks, village visits and fine dining, your Kenya discovery will be so much more than just a walk on the wild side.

UK - Nairobi

Fly from the UK to Nairobi on a day flight and stay overnight in the contemporary and comfortable Eka Hotel. You’ll be rested and ready to go tomorrow.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Spend two days exploring this 36,000-hectare, not-for-profits wildlife conservancy.  Enjoy game drives with your own A&K driver guide. If you’re a keen birdwatcher, a walking safari with an experienced, armed ranger will reveal the African bush to you and its plethora of birdlife. Time can be spent with the Lion Tracking Programme, which monitors lions in the area. The Conservancy is also home to a Chimpanzee Sanctuary, where children and adults alike will love observing and learning about these primates.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, we will drive you to the unique Samburu National Reserve for your next two nights. Samburu was one of the two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the lioness, and were made famous in the best-selling book and award-winning movie Born Free.

Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National Reserve, at 165sqkm, has an untamed wildness that we love. This semi-arid park depends on the flow of the Ewaso Ng’iro River for its existence. The river waters a variety of animals, including beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, thin-striped Grevy's zebra, and 'giraffe-necked' gerenuk antelope, which stands on its hind legs to feed. Elephant, buffalo, lion and leopard all live here too, plus 400 species of bird. It’s the home of the Samburu tribe, cousins of the Maasai, who share the same nomadic existence, and an even stricter adherence to age-old customs.

Samburu National Park - Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to the Masai Mara National Park. On arrival, you will be transferred to Kichwa Tembe Tented Camp where you will stay for the next two nights.

Masai Mara National Reserve

The camp is in a prime game-viewing area. The Masai Mara hosts one of earth's greatest shows with the majestic wildebeest migration passing through annually. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are taken in open-sided vehicles, which offer you the perfect platform to watch and photograph the wildlife without encroaching on their space. You can also experience the Mara on foot exploring the little things missed on a vehicle. Your stay would not be complete without a visit to a local village and school.

Masai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi - UK

There’s time for one last game drive before transferring back to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi. Check into your dayroom at the Eka Hotel and take time to relax and refresh. There will be time for dinner at a top Nairobi restaurant, before boarding an overnight flight back to the UK.
