A stay at Sanctuary Olonana includes twice-daily safari drives into the Masai Mara. A glimpse of the camp’s resident hippo will get your safari off to the right start whether you leave at sunrise or following afternoon tea. On your doorstep lies one of the world’s best wildlife reserves, home to the Big Five and annual Great Migration between the Serengeti to the Masai Mara.
You’ll explore hidden gems stretching along the Mara River with the Olonana’s Sanctuary guide onboard one of our customised open vehicles. Don’t forget your camera to capture that pride of lion, lone leopard or herd of elephant striding through the bush. Experience the sights and sounds of the dusk-pink savanna which plays host to one of the natural wonders of the world. From about July to October herds of wildebeest and zebra cover the plains, risking their lives to cross the river from Tanzania.
The Mara's rich eco-system includes acacia-studded plains, riparian forest and woodland which attract more than 300 birds from lofty secretary bird to ostrich and array of wildlife from cheetah to giraffe.

Additional notes about the tour
The twice-daily safari is included in your stay at Sanctuary Olonana. A private vehicle must be booked at for families with children aged five and younger. The safari drives take place at 7.30am and at 4pm. Clothing should be cool and comfortable. Khaki-coloured clothing is recommended.
